Ready to record

You’ll choose what to share in the next step.

A free screen recorder in your browser

This screen recorder online captures your screen without downloading any software. Click start, choose whether to share your entire screen, a single window or one browser tab, and recording begins. Add your microphone to narrate as you go, and switch on the webcam bubble to appear in the corner, which is perfect for tutorials, bug reports, feedback on designs and walkthroughs for colleagues.

Webcam bubble

The webcam bubble opens your camera in a small picture-in-picture window that floats above everything else. Drag it wherever you like. When you record your entire screen, the bubble is captured in the video. (When you share a single tab or window, it won’t be, because it lives outside that tab.)

Audio options

  • Microphone: tick “Include microphone” to record your voice.
  • Tab audio: in Chrome and Edge, share a tab and tick “Share tab audio”.
  • System audio: on Windows, Chrome and Edge can capture whole-screen audio when you tick “Share system audio”.

Format and privacy

Recordings are saved as MP4 where your browser supports it, otherwise WebM. Everything is recorded locally. Nothing is uploaded, so download your video before closing the tab. Want to record just your camera? Use the video camera.

FAQ

Screen Recorder FAQ

How do I record my screen online?

Choose your options, click “Start recording” and pick a screen, window or browser tab to share. Click “Stop” (or your browser’s “Stop sharing” button) when you’re done, then download the video.

Can I record my webcam at the same time?

Yes. Tick “Show webcam bubble” and your camera opens in a floating picture-in-picture window. Record your entire screen and the bubble is captured along with everything else.

Does it record sound?

Your microphone can be added with “Include microphone”. System or tab audio depends on your browser and what you share: Chrome and Edge can capture tab audio, and on Windows, whole-system audio too. Tick “Share audio” in the browser’s picker.

Does it work on phones?

No. Mobile browsers don’t allow websites to capture the screen. Use your phone’s built-in screen recorder instead.

Is there a time limit or watermark?

No limit and no watermark. The recording stays in your tab until you download it, and nothing is uploaded.
